Adding speed dials in Microsoft Teams Calling can make calling frequent users easier. It also adds the benefit to see if they are available, away, or offline before you decide to call. Follow the steps below to add your own speed dials.
Adding NCMC users to speed dial:
- In the Teams desktop app, go to the "Calls" tab.
- On the right, find the section named "Speed Dials" and click the "Add speed dials" button.
- Type the name of the person you want to add in the new window that appears.
- Press "Add" button.
Adding external users to speed dial:
- In the Teams desktop app, go to the "Calls" tab.
- At the top, click on the "Contacts" tab.
- Click the purple "Add Contact" button near the top of the contacts list.
- Type in the phone number you want to add.
- A drop down will appear, choose "Add new contact" option.
- A new window will open allowing you to enter in basic contact information, like name and phone number.
- Once filled out, click the "Save" button.
- After saving, find the contact in your contacts list and click the three dots at the end of the row for that contact.
- A menu will appear, choose the "Add to speed dial" option.
