What are parked calls:

Parked calls in Microsoft Teams are calls placed on hold, but are intended to be picked up on another device.

Usually, when you place a call on hold, you pick the call back up on the same device when you are ready. If you park the call instead, the call will be placed on hold, but your device will hang up. Then on any other device with Teams Calling (desk phone, cell phone, computer, etc.), you can pick up the call.

You can also allow someone else to answer the parked call, but normally you would want to just use the transfer call feature.

Park a call:

  1. Select the "Call Park" option when in a call. This option may be hidden under the three dots menu.
  2. A window will appear with a unique code, remember this code.
  3. Call will be placed on hold until unparked.

Unpark a call:

  1. Depending on the device, when in the "Calls" section of Microsoft Teams, select the "Parked Calls" button or look for an icon that looks like a phone with the letter "P" above it.
  2. Type in the unique code provided when the call was first parked.
  3. The call will be taken off hold and connected to you.
