The desk phones use Microsoft Teams to handle phone calls, this requires to be logged into with your NCMC portal account credentials. Periodically, you may be logged out of your phone for security reasons or updates. If this happens, follow the steps below to log back in:
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to login via a website. Using a computer, go to microsoft.com/devicelogin and enter the code generated on the screen of the phone. You may need to press the refresh code button on the phone screen if there is no code displayed.
  2. If the code is not working, you can also try signing into the phone directly on the screen itself. This will require you to enter your username (full email) and portal password. It may be hard to type on the small keyboard that appears on the screen, so ensure you are entering the correct characters as you type.
If none of these options are working, reboot the phone and try the login steps again. To reboot the phone, unplug the network cable that is on the backside. If your phone has two network cables plugged into it, then it will be the cable that is plugged into the port that says "Internet", which is also plugged into the wall in your office at the other end. If you still aren't sure, unplug each one, one at a time, to see which one turns the phone screen off. Once the phone is off, wait a few seconds and plug the cable back in. After it is done booting back up, try signing in again.

You may be asked to also use your multifactor authentication during the sign-in process, so make sure to have it handy (usually your cell phone).

If these steps are still not working, please reach out to the IT Help Desk so we can assist.
