PrinterLogic - Install Client App

This article provides instructions on installing the PrinterLogic application. If you are on a work provided device, you likely already have this application installed. Once the application is installed, please see How do I install a printer with PrinterLogic? article.

Windows:

  1. Open your default web browser (usually Microsoft Edge).
  2. Navigate to https://ncmich.printercloud.com.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install the browser extension (if prompted to install). Once the extension is installed, return to the browser tab for PrinterLogic. Note, you may need to refresh this tab if it still asks for you to install the extension.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install the PrinterLogic client. This will start a download, run the download when it is ready.
  5. Return back to the PrinterLogic web tab and refresh the page. It should now ask you for an authorization code.
  6. Use "xb5zj7k7" for the code.
  7. Now sign in using the NCMC Portal button from the PrinterLogic website. Use your NCMC username (full email) and portal password.
  8. After signing in, the web page should load all the printers you have access to install.

macOS (Safari Browser):

  1. Open your Safari web browser.
  2. Navigate to https://ncmich.printercloud.com.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install the PrinterLogic client. This will start a download.
  4. Run the download when it is ready, you should be able to find it in your downloads folder.
  5. Proceed through the installation with all the default settings.
  6. After installing the client, open "Terminal" from your applications.
  7. In Terminal, type "sudo killall PrinterInstallerClient" without the quotes and press the enter key on your keyboard.
  8. Enter your computer password if asked. Note, for security, when typing your password in Terminal, it will not show that you are typing, just press the enter key to submit it.
  9. Then type "open $(cat /etc/pl_dir)/service_interface/PrinterInstallerClient.app" without the quotes and press the enter key.
  10. Open your Safari web browser.
  11. Click "Safari" from your menu bar in the top left corner of your screen, this will open a menu.
  12. Then click "Settings" from that menu.
  13. Then click the "Extensions" tab at the top of that window.
  14. Make sure the checkbox is checked next to the PrinterLogic extension. You may have to click the button to allow on all sites if it appears for that extension.
  15. Close out of the Safari preferences window.
  16. In Safari, navigate back to https://ncmich.printercloud.com.
  17. It should now ask you for an authorization code, use "xb5zj7k7" for the code.
  18. Now sign in using the NCMC Portal button from the PrinterLogic website. Use your NCMC username (full email) and portal password.
  19. After signing in, the web page should load all the printers you have access to install.

Android, iPadOS, and iOS:

  1. Open the app store (Google Play Store or App Store) and search for PrinterLogic App. It should be a purple background with a white printer and plus symbol. It is created by the company Vasion.
  2. Install the app to your device.
  3. Once installed, open the app.
  4. Enter "ncmich.printercloud.com" into the address box and continue.
  5. Click the button to sign in with the NCMC Portal. Use your NCMC username (full email) and portal password.
  6. Once signed in, you should see your currently held print jobs, with additional tabs at the bottom to view or install printers.

Chromebook:

Chromebooks are supported, but please see IT for installation instructions if the Android installation instructions will not work for you.
